JULIENNE'S STORY

Julienne Cange Benoit, the eldest of six siblings, was born in Fond-des-Blancs and took on the responsibility of caring for her brothers and sisters from a young age. Despite her mother's initial objections, Julienne felt a strong urge to explore life beyond Fond-des-Blancs and aspired to settle in the vibrant city of Port-au-Prince. However, her attempts to establish herself in the city were met with obstacles, and she had to return to Fond-des-Blancs on two separate occasions. Nevertheless, fate intervened, and on her third attempt, Julienne finally found her rightful place in Port-au-Prince, where she would eventually meet her beloved husband, Sauveur Benoit.

As Julienne and Sauveur journeyed through life together, they not only became proud parents to their child, Pierre Samuel Benoit, but also embraced the role of informal adoptive parents to numerous other children, including Oriol Cange Benoit, whose life Julienne would profoundly impact in the future. In their neighborhood, both Julienne and Sauveur were known for their compassionate nature, always extending love and care to those in need.

Venturing beyond the confines of Fond-des-Blancs, Julienne blazed a trail for others, serving as an inspiring example and opening doors for those who would later follow in her footsteps, seeking new opportunities beyond their hometown's boundaries. Julienne's audacious spirit and unwavering determination continue to shine as a beacon of hope and inspiration for generations to come, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched.
